RACE REPORT
Day 1 Bundaberg 6th Oct started with the weather report of a hot and windy day from the north east of 15 to 20kn of wind and they were right for once,six starters fronted up for the two day event, with Andrew Sands traveling all the way from NSW and Malcolm Kemp and Graeme Turk from Brisbane plus three local sailors from Bundy Glen Foley and Paul O'Neill sailing EC12 for the first time and Yeoman Sands making up the fleet. The first race got under way at 10'45am with a H course set out in the middle of the pond with two buoys at the top rounding and two buoys at the bottom forming a gate witch let the fleet turn to port or starboard making some interesting decions of which side to go,A rigs were the order for the start of the day with the wind 10 to 12kn from the NW Yeoman started well and won the first race with Malcolm wining the next three and Graeme staying in touch with the leaders sailing a borrowed boat for the event, Andrew sailing in mid fleet followed by Paul and Glen trying to get the hang of sailing EC12 for the first time, Arfter lunch the wind moved into the NE and freshened to 15/18kn, B rigs were the order for the rest of the day with Malcolm continuing to set the pace with Graeme and Yeoman fighting for second place Andrew close behind Paul and Glen finding sailing with B rigs a lot better Glen was having radio and battery problems Day 2 The weather report was much the same as yester day but wind fleshing to 15/20kn the fleet started of with B rigs Malcolm continued to put in good racing as the first day to stay well in the lead Andrew was the big improver for the day staying with B rig moving into second place at lunch,Malcolm ,Yeoman and Graeme put on A rigs but soon moved back to B rigs arfter lunch as wind pick up to 20kn, Glen and Paul started to put in sum good placing as they were getting to grips with this class of boats well dune guy's Graeme didn’t have a very good day sailing, with losing his rig at the start of the last race ,Malcolm stayed well out in front on points and Yeoman manage to move into second place just a head of Andrew finishing in third place, thanks must go to Des Randell as OOD, and the guys of Bundaberg club for putting on a good weekend.
