North Lakes One Metre Yacht Squadron inc.

Handicap Racing.  30^th March 2008 at Newport Waters.

 

Racing started a little late due to lack of wind.  When we did get away it was still very light N.East at about 2 knts and there was not much increase all day.  Handicapping was in the format of the first 4 finishers (25% of starters) received 10 seconds added to their handicap.  This resulted in some very tight finishes requiring an observer calling the numbers over the line very quickly.  The day dragged a little with handicaps being adjusted each race and with the light winds we shortened course to one triangle and a finishing off the wind run.  Two visitors were Ben and Garth who sailed well and enjoyed the day with us.

 

Our next sailing day is Scratch racing at Newport Waters on 13 April 2008.  Hope to see you all there.
