Handicap Series round 9.  28 October 2007-10-28

Nine skippers started at 1.15pm and all were in B rig.  Ian Gilmour sorted the handicap’s and took a punt at what to give the three visitors from Mooloolaba.  A course was laid with port roundings to the NNE using two triangles and a windward and return with a beat to finish.

There were some position changes each race with the top mark becoming a bit of a problem for some with some hits, some misses and some had a hard time trying to run off with the wind gusting at the top of B rig.  Boats were very quick to the wing mark with a short reach to the leeward mark then it was off to windward again.

Our visitors from Mooloolaba enjoyed our venue at the Isles of Newport and said they would come again.  Our own members were a bit sparse and with some problems experience by some, the fleet got depleted and racing was called off after 11 races.

All in all it was a windy day with almost some white caps on the water but was enjoyed by all and we look forward to our next event which is our Club Championship scheduled for 11 November 2007.  Sorry but this event is only open to club members.

See you there.
