Saturday dawned very hot with a good
breeze blowing from the North east. However the wind gods decided to make
us work for our money. Over the day the wind moved 360 degrees. Not once
but several times. It was so bad that we gave up at 3.15 and had an early
happy hour.
The first couple of races saw
Lindsay Walker from the Ballina club right up there until his boat sprang a
leak, and he wasn’t able take any further part in racing for the day.
The fleet was a bit smaller than
usual due to Peter Kampe having sold his boat and Malcolm Kampe at the EC12
regatta in Sydney. Several others were also missing.
They did pick a good day to stay at
home.
