1. EVENT SCHEDULE

Note  The Race committee, based on the number of entrants and from whence they come, will announce and advise all entrants immediately after the close of entries as to whether the event will be run as a one day or a two day event having a maximum of 40 races.

3. ORGANISING AUTHORITY

The Championships are organised under the overall authority of the Australian Radio Yachting Association Incorporated (ARYA) and conducted by the Brisbane Radio Yacht Club Inc. and its duly appointed Race Committee.

 

4. RULES

The regatta will be governed by The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 2005-2008 (RRS) as changed by Appendix E of the RRS - Radio Controlled Boat Racing Rules, this Notice of Race (NoR), the Sailing Instructions (SI), International Class Administration Rules, the Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS) and the respective International Class Rules. The Sailing Instructions shall prevail in the event of conflict with this Notice of Race.

5. ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to financial members of ARYA (Inc) affiliated clubs and to members of a recognized Division Member of the International Sailing Federation-Radio Sailing Division.  All yachts must have a current registration certificate.

 

6. REGISTRATION

Boats, together with their current registration certificate, must be presented for registration and check-measurement by 0900 on the first day of competition. No boat will be eligible to race until it has completed this process.

 

7. EVENT CATEGORY AND ADVERTISING

The Championships are classified under the ISAF Advertising Code Regulation 20.3.1 (b) as Category C.

The Organisers reserve the right to advertising according to Regulation 20.3

 

8. SCORING AND RACING SYSTEM

For a race entry of more than 20 competitors the current Heat Management System (HMS) as approved by the ISAF-RSD or as amended by the Sailing Instructions will be used. For a race entry of 20 or less

competitors the event will be sailed in one fleet and scored as per Appendix “A” of the RRS and as amended by the Sailing Instructions.

 

9. MEASUREMENT

The Race Committee may direct that all boats entered in the event be check-measured or alternatively randomly select a number of boats for check measurement.

Random spot checks may be conducted throughout the duration of the event.

 

10. FREQUENCIES

Each competitor is required to nominate a minimum of three (3) frequencies with their entry. The listing of additional frequencies if available would be helpful. Permitted frequency bands are 27, 29, 36, 40 Mhz and 2.4 Ghz.

 

11. PROTESTS

A  Committee will be appointed to hear any protests arising from the event and may comprise competitors not involved in the incident.  RRS 61.2 and 62.2 may be replaced by a verbal notification and hearing if all parties affected by the incident agree.

 

12. ENTRIES

Entries must be made on either the official Entry Form, the downloaded Entry Form or directly on the Entry Form available on the web site www .rcyachts.net. Entry Forms with or without an entry fee payments should be forwarded to :-

Entries will not be accepted from members who are un-financial at the close of entries.

The entry fee of $ 25.00 must accompany the entry form or paid on registration on the first day of the event..  Cheques must be made payable to Brisbane Radio Yacht Club and marked “Not Negotiable”.  Please do not send cash.  Light lunch to be provided each day.

 

ENTRIES CLOSE at 8.00 PM on 11th. August 2008

Late entries may be accepted until the 14th. August 2008 on payment of an additional fee of $ 5.00

 

13. PRIZES AND TROPHIES

Trophies or prizes will be awarded at least for First, Second and Third place. 

 

14. LIABILITY

All those entering or taking part in these Championships do so at their own risk and responsibility.   The Australian Radio Yachting Association (Incorporated), Queensland Radio Yachting Association, the Brisbane Radio Yacht Club Inc disclaims:

 

Any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered by this Notice of Race.

 

At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves plus the decision to participate or continue must rest with the competitors.

 

By entering the event it is deemed that you accept these conditions.
