3. ORGANISING
AUTHORITY
The Championship
is organised under the overall authority of the Australian Radio
Yachting Association Incorporated (ARYA) and conducted by the
Queensland Radio Yachting Association (QRYA) and the North Lakes One
Metre Yacht Squadron Incorporated (NLOMYS Inc) and it's duly
appointed Race Committee.
4. RULES
The regatta will
be governed by The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 2005-2008 (RRS)
as changed by Appendix E of the RRS - Radio Controlled Boat Racing
Rules, this Notice of Race (NoR), the Sailing Instructions (SI), the
Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS) and the respective National EC12
Class Rules. The Sailing Instructions shall prevail in the event of
conflict with this Notice of Race.
5. ELIGIBILITY
The competition
is open to financial members of ARYA (Inc) affiliated clubs and to
members of a recognised Division Member of the International Sailing
Federation-Radio Sailing Division. All yachts must have a current
registration certificate issued by their National Authority
6. REGISTRATION
Boats, together
with their current registration certificate, must be presented for
registration and check-measurement by 0900 on the 17th May 2008. No
boat will be eligible to race until it has completed this process.
7. EVENT
CATEGORY AND ADVERTISING
The
Championships are classified under the ISAF Advertising Code
Regulation 20.3.1 (b) as Category C.
The Organisers
reserve the right to advertising according to Regulation 20.3
8. SCORING AND
RACING SYSTEM
The current Heat
Management System (HMS) as approved by the ISAF-RSD will be used. In
general where there are less than 16 competitors, the event will be
sailed in one fleet
9. MEASUREMENT
The Race
Committee may direct that all boats entered in the event be
check-measured or alternatively randomly select a number of boats
for check measurement.
Random spot
checks may be conducted throughout the duration of the event.
10. FREQUENCIES
Each competitor
is required to nominate a minimum of three (3) frequencies with
their entry. The listing of additional frequencies if available
would be helpful. Permitted frequency bands are 27, 29, 36, 40 Mhz
and 2.4 Ghz.
11. PROTESTS
A Committee
will be appointed to hear any protests arising from the event and
may comprise competitors not involved in the incident. RRS 61.2 and
62.2 may be replaced by a verbal notification and hearing if all
parties affected by the incident agree.
12. ENTRIES
Entries must be

official hard copy entry form and forwarded to:

Entries will not
be accepted from members who are un-financial at the close of
entries.
The entry fee of
$ 45.00 must accompany the entry form to secure your frequency.
Cheques to be made payable to North Lakes One Metre Yacht Squadron
Inc and marked “Not Negotiable”. Please do not send cash.
A light lunch
and refreshments will be provided for all competitors and officials
on each race day. This is included in the entry fee
ENTRIES CLOSE on

Late entries may
with the agreement of the race committee be accepted until 14th May
2008 on payment of an additional fee of $10.00
13. PRIZES AND
TROPHIES
Trophies and
prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings. A perpetual
Trophy will be presented to the winner but should the winner be a
non-ARYA affiliated member the trophy will remain in Australia.
Separate novelty prizes will also be awarded.
14. LIABILITY
All those
entering or taking part in these Championships do so at their own
risk and responsibility. The Australian Radio Yachting Association
(Incorporated), the Queensland Radio Yachting Association (QRYA),
the North Lakes One Metre Yacht Squadron Incorporated ( NLOMYS Inc)
and any other parties involved in the organisation of this event
disclaim:
Any and every
responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience
that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water
as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship
covered by this Notice of Race.
At all times the
responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves plus the
decision to participate or continue must rest with the competitors.
By entering the
event it is deemed that you accept these conditions.
